at UPVTC, July 26, 2009. this is a celebration of God's faithfulness to our Church and to everyone of us. the program design focused on worship singing and special songs for God plus a wonderful message from a fil-am pastor. it was indeed a chorus magnifying God's name in our midst.
only that milo offered mugs, so we bought. that's why. and so the others too offered, and we bought.
this is my tribute to her for "ablazing" us all up for God. her homecoming after her stint in UP diliman as magna cum laude in bs physics (whew!), brought us in our feet again. we joined forces together in our worship ministry and introduced system to this otherwise boring service. we understand that even God wanted to be inspired in our worship services. because of her presence too, all young professionals are bonding once again. maybe this will be the start for us to "start again". and that's praising God for her. as she leaves for taiwan for doctoral studies, we, the young prof together with ann, made some moments together, thanking God for working in our midst. our prayers, ann, and our thanks.
ablaze for God. really, they are. so young, but wise enough to put down the meaningless pursuits of intellectuals, developmentalists, scientists, accountants, career executives, corporates. these young people from california, pure-blooded pinoys who happen to have been americanized, worked hard for their fare and all, came by to our place to assist us in our mission outreaches in leyte and samar. they brought with them goods and good news of Christ and the hope it brings to all men, needy or rich alike. i organized an activity for their welcome, and with the help of equally pure blooded pinoys too with me (the ones who truly grow up in the philippines), we came up with a very light, fun-filled welcome party. we started with a lively singing, self-introduction, and right after, the dinner. we introduced to them a modified laro-ng-lahi game we termed as tsinelas game (mechanics withheld), followed by a Q&A with AFG, and challenged them to a fear factor pinoy style (this is really now a fusion of east and west). as our way of saying welcome, we sang a very meaningful song titled "kailan pa?" maybe we can learn from them, as much as they can learn from us.
the group i am informally leading...this is us now. most of the old members are now flying everywhere and for a while we were shutdown. i am not yet taking the challenge, but deep down i know i wanted to help. after the "i've-been-there-done-that" thing, i realized that only God can really make sense of what we are, what we should be, and why we are here. i bet my diploma for that...
one of those days when i had my time in my hands... after the darna fellowship, zilog is best place to unwind. this group usually meets every friday, and in between fridays, sometimes for no reason at all. but for the past months that we have revitalized ourselves, we met for tableya, puto, tinapay, biko, or recently for chichiriya. (why darna? i am not telling...)
maybe a family of cactus (an dahon nanahon), this blooms once a year (i think) and for only one night. my nanay has this for a plant, and exactly in the eve of her (and chikki's) birthday, the queen of the night blooms. we waited til 10pm to have this pictured (which makes me wonder now how kenken knew this would bloom that night). we could wait no longer its full bloom (maybe around 12mn?) - in culaba, we are used to sleeping at 7pm.
in culaba, biliran. climbed our roof to get a better view but this is the best picture i could take given the circumstances. the next day, it was signal number 2. sunrise also was red, i was told. when i woke up at 6am, the only 6am i had after the storm, the sun was already very up. will get back.
